Dr. Lauryn McDowell grew up in Bozeman, MT and is thrilled to be back in the Big Sky country! Dr. McDowell’s love for animals began at a young age and her first job in veterinary medicine was right here at Hardaway Veterinary Hospital as a kennel technician. She graduated from Montana Sate University with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology. Dr. McDowell completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. Her background in wildlife enabled her to work with a wide variety of wildlife and exotic species during her veterinary training; from Sea lions, African lions, and everything in between!

Dr. McDowell’s areas of interest include preventative medicine in small and large animals, surgery, dermatology, and exotics. She is excited to work in a clinic with a small town feel where she can get to know her patients and clients personally. In her free time, you will find Dr. McDowell exploring the great outdoors. She enjoys hiking, skiing, horseback riding, and photography.

Her furry family consists of a Border collie mix named Yoshi and her cat Harry.
